First and foremost we respect the heck out of anyone that puts in the time, effort, sweat and tears to become the best in any ring or octagon? The commitment to the sport that the guys & girls involved have and the strong mentality is inspirational to us. Which is why we absolutely love to tell everyone we can about our one and only Joey Ward!

 

      Not only are we a big fan of his but because of his passion and drive to accomplish his dream... He fits in perfectly with our motto and everything we stand for at Elysian Supply Co., Living life to the fullest and enjoying every moment of it! He continuedly pushes himself to new limits to get where he wants and to be 1 step closer of stepping onto the big stage!

      But just like every story, joey had to start somewhere...

BEFORE THE SPOTLIGHT:

​

      Before joey started to compete in the spotlight he began with wrestling because fighting to him was more of a family thing at first. His uncle and father were both wrestlers and that inspired him to start wrestling at the age of 4. Since that age he has loved the sense of competition; "It's just the love of competition for me! One on one, just you and your opponent. I find that VERY exciting!" 

      At the age of 16 joey joined in on the kickboxing world and instantly fell in love with the sport! Joey told us that, Putting the two together just made sense... Which is how he moved on to compete in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). This change also allowed him to start competing in BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsiu) which is what he does nowadays along with MMA.

LIVING HIS DREAM: ​

​

      Joey currently trains with the ZR Team located in Hope Mills, NC. This team has allowed him to compete in  bigger competitions with more experienced competitors. Joey has placed in NAGA, Nuway Combat Ring and more. He plans to keep pushing his limits with the best in his weight class to get noticed and heard by others around the world.

      Joey's trainer Estevan Martinez aka (TheGiantSlayer) has opened up many opportunities when it comes to BJJ especially! Considering he's being mentored and trained by one of the best to ever compete in BJJ just makes sense that Joey is going to come out of the gym ready to take on his next competition...
